"You should, it is a great place to work." he said, smiling as he reached for his mug. Holding the drink between his fingers thoughtfully, he sighed. "I'll probably end up being one of those men taking responsibility. Clara...we originally got into reproductive endocrinology because we both wanted to be parents so bad. I was maybe 9 or 10 when I last saw a baby, the thought of helping bring more back to the world is exciting."
It was his turn to lose his smile a little. Even though the history between him and his ex-wife was over years ago, the bitterness about how it ended was still fresh in his mind. The situation further exacerbated by the woman working in close quarters. A part of him hoped they would return to a cordial friendship, but for now pretending the other didn't exist worked for them.
Gil cleared his throat and put the cup down, grinning back at Nana. "Nursing is hell, doctors have it easy. Really, just make sure you have your pockets full of the basics and be prepared for anything. And that calculator will be your lifeline, I'm not even kidding."
He chuckled and reached for his mug again, pausing when a thought crossed his mind. "Have you filled out your requests and preferences paperwork yet? If you haven't, being more specific might buy you some time. Not that I'm purposefully giving you bad advice or anything. A guy like me, though, I'll probably file mine for any takers."
