He was right, of course. It was for the good of the world, and if the notice came, there wasn't anything else she could do but to dutifully bear children from the sake of humanity. "Yes... I could take time off, but if the notice comes I won't put the baby up for adoption. So who knows when I'd have a chance to go back?" She frowned. "I guess I would just have to do my very best to keep at it until I have to stop, and hope that whoever I'm paired with can help out a lot, as well."
This was probably the most in depth conversation she'd had with someone that wasn't her parents all week, and it was kind of depressing. She shook her head. "There's no use worrying now, though. It's all decided and if that happens, it happens." She shrugged, then tried her best to smile. "I'll live."
