When Olivia smiled, Hanna felt a relief wash over her. While it could still be awkward, it wouldn't be hostile or anything. Then she felt slightly ashamed for even thinking that Olivia would react like that; they had been quite close once and she knew her to be quite rational. The next thought that struck her was how much the girl had grown; she looked so mature and she was even drinking!
Hanna turned her attention to Ivy then, her smile broadening further at the greeting. "Good to see you, too, Ivy," she offered, though when the introduction trailed off, Hanna realized that an explanation was probably necessary at this point. "Olivia and I have met, we just haven't seen each other in awhile," she explained, omitting the personal details as she usually did out of habit, though she wasn't sure if Olivia would choose to fill them in. Well, it didn't really matter.
That settled, Hanna turned her attention back to Olivia. "I'm doing well, thank you. How are you? You look great," she offered with a smile, trying not to seem as tentative as she felt, reminding herself that from Olivia's perspective, she had every right to be upset with her.
The arrival of the bartender was quite welcome, though, and Hanna decided to start the night off right by ordering a cosmopolitan right off the bat. After all, wasn't this supposed to be a celebration?
