Who: Jayden Tanaka and Madeleine Bradley
When: May 12th, 2049 - 2:00pm
Where: The Lucia Lounge
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Jayden has a question for Madeleine
Warnings: None yet.
Jayden had no idea what he was thinking. This was stupid, foolhardy, and he was setting himself up for failure. He couldn't help it. The government was trying to take control of his life, and he wanted to beat the government to it. He could choose for himself before the end of the horrible two month period. Assuming that the government approved his decision, of course, but it seemed like a promising case. He already made the necessary phone calls to discover the exact process he would need to go through to take care of the situation.
It wasn't that he hadn't liked Kayla. She was interesting enough, but she was just so...childish. So angry at the world. He had barely known her, but he could pick up on the way she wallowed in the negative events surrounding her life. Plus, she was nineteen. Nineteen. He didn't think he'd mind being paired with someone younger, but when it all boiled down, a nineteen year-old girl was just that - a girl. Still immature, still upset by her lot in life. He needed someone more stable - and someone with which he had, at the very least, some chemistry.
That's why he chose Madeleine. He had no idea how she would react when she heard his proposition, but it was worth a try. He knew that she had basic interest in him and he definitely had interest in her. She was also unhappy about the pairing process - surely she would understand his logic. But agree? He couldn't help but feel that this was a mess and he was getting deeper and deeper into the muck of it all.
He had asked Madeleine to meet him at The Lucia Lounge - somewhere quiet and a bit intimate, but without being too fancy. Fancy wouldn't have made the correct impression, especially since for all she knew, he was still an engaged man. Once he arrived, he found a couple of chairs in the back, stationed around a coffee table. He took a seat and waited, a bit embarrassed at himself for having butterflies in his stomach.
