She raised her eyebrows slightly at the blunt, yet light-hearted, comment. She said nothing, unblinking.
Gwyneth was a rather intuitive person, knowing people's emotions and what they were pondering without much investigation. She really wasn't surprised that the girl wasn't having the best of days. "I imagine you'd have to be upset to some degree to go out there." Gwyneth said, rather dead-pan. Her hands slid down from her hips, making her look less aggressive (Even though she'd always be aggressive nonetheless).
Gwyneth continued to look down on the girl, before slowly and deliberately sitting down in the sand, not too far from the board. She wrapped her arms around her knees, grasping her elbows hard. She dreaded, dreaded marriage. It would happened sooner or later, and that knowledge ate at her.
Her self-pity was interrupted by the girl's laughter, causing her to turn her head and...smile. "What's so funny?" Random mood changes such as this is what kept people attracted to Gwyn, and she knew it.
