The short short pause from him before he spoke her name did not go unnoticed by ZuuZuu. Was it a strange request? His expression has been bordering on something close to scandalized for a few seconds there. Maybe he was the type that did not like to get too personal right off the bat? She could already imagine the list of things they did not have in common growing as the seconds ticked by. He agreed to it so at least there was that.
"The government seems to have everything planned out, don't they?" The government had long proved themselves at being absolute aces at finding opportunities to meet their ends in the exact way they wanted. Zuu would not be surprised if they had waited so long in pairing her up just to place her with the man sitting across from her. Though looking at him right then, she was not sure why. It must be the DNA compatibility or whatever it was because physically, she did not think they looked even a bit compatible. They were the same height almost and frankly, she thought he looked more feminine and delicate than she did.
She nodded, smiling as she glanced over at the semi-busy counter. "A drink would be good right about now. You seem like the type of guy to get a girl a drink for her so I'd like an iced chai latte please." If he was not offering, why ask if she wanted a drink?
It was starting to feel like what could only be the strangest and most awkward of blind dates, though there were clear differences in this meeting. In this situation she knew exactly where the 'relationship' was going to go. They were going to get married and according to the law, they were going to have a child together. They would stay together for a year at the least and then they would more than likely divorce. If this was just some date set up by friends it would be much easier, Zuu would not be tracing the patterns in the imitation wood of the table as she tried to figure out what to do with her hands, she would be eager and chatting and flushed with the prospect of a new relationship. Instead all she could feel was apprehension at the course her life was now set upon, at the fact that when she looked at Auryn she saw no chance of him being her 'loving husband' or anything like that. He looked like a man who would do what he had to do, nothing more and nothing less. She could only guess at how much of a business deal it would seem like. She was not completely sure what she wanted out of all this, but that was not it. But what else could she do?
