The world's baby continues to grow: by Nathan Jipples |
---|---|
Each expectant mother has been put on a strict diet, an exercise and vitamin regiment, and they will all be monitored closely by medical professionals for the durations of their pregnancies. With these new and exciting developments, it seems as if the entire world is even more excited for the upcoming generation. Children's stores seem to be popping up in new places everyday; things like toys and small clothing is being manufactured at record speed and the Government is in a mad rush to completely prepare the world for these children. They now have Universities offering courses in pediatric medicine, child development and psychology, and childhood education. There are already places such as playgrounds and daycare centers either being built or planning to be built. Our world is changing in a new and amazing way thanks to the Global Government and the Fruitful Project. There is no doubt that we are all excited for the new world we will be seeing. The Innovo Daily would like to be the first to congratulate all of the expectant parents and wish luck to our Innovo Fruitful couples in their efforts of bringing hope to our world. For the full names of all the expectant couples, the growth of their children so far, and the detailed diets of the new mothers, continue to page 45... |
Baby Adam, the World's Baby, will be turning five months old this month. As with every month of our little boy's life, the Innovo Daily has conducted a full page spread of the past month of Adam's life. In this just past month, Adam has learned to sit up on his own. On February, 3rd, 2049 Adam manged to lift his chest and stomach from the floor all on his own for a full 10.9 seconds! Next he will be learning to sit up and after that, he will be moving about by himself! On the 8th, he began repeating his favorite sounds and tones. Apparently, his new favorite thing to do is blow raspberries. He will be talking in not time! On February 12th, it was noted that Adam had begun to learn 'cause and effect', that his own movements and actions has an effect on the world around him. The A. P. S. T (Adam Personal Science Team) has informed us that this is one of the most important things that Adam has learned recently. It will effect how he interacts with the people and the world around him. Little Adam has learned even more than this! To learn about all his latest accomplishments and to see the full, ten page pictorial of the last month of Adam's life, continue to page 70... |
Further Benefits for Fruitful Couples: by Jensen Daniels |
Anti-Fruitful Law Protest Staged at Innovo University: by Elaine Grant |

In an effort to make life a bit easier for the Fruitful couples, the Global Government has announced several new benefits that will be afforded to Fruitful couples after their marriages. The couples already receive things free housing in several apartment complexes: The Slate - Downtown Innovo The Cube - The Art District Townhouses on Callis St. - Innovo Beach The Clamshell - South Innovo To make life even more comfortable for these couples and their future children, the Government has added to their original housing plan. Now, if a couple so chooses, they can forgo the free living of the apartment complexes and move into a larger home or townhouse. The Government is offering to pay half the price of a full house/townhouse. Here is a list of the places that the Government is granting subsidies for: Sweetgrass Village - East Innovo Pelican's Reef Village - East Innovo The Swell Circle - East Innovo Dirigo St. Townhomes - Art District Religiogale Neighborhood - North Innovo The Government has also revealed that each couple will be given $1,200 for every child they have. The announcement of these new benefits has been met with mixed reactions. While many think that the Government is doing a great deed by adding even more perks to the Fruitful Law, there is also a large portion of people who see this as a veiled act by the Government to appease those who oppose the law. Several more protests have been staged over the past week (most notably the one at Innovo University) as the next round of pairings draws near. Opposition for the law has not lessened in the past few months and many have insinuated that the Government wants to silence the steadily growing opposition as quickly as possible. continue to page 62 for full article and views from readers... |
Yesterday, Friday, March 6th, 2049, nearly forty students at Innovo University staged an anti-Fruitful Law protest. The students, carrying handmade picket signs reading slogans such as, "Fruitful Law = No Free Will", "F*** you, we choose", "I am not cattle", and "Who needs brats?" among other things, stormed the school's courtyard and staged a sort of sit-in. They chanted slogans, made impassioned speeches about their views on the law, and circled a petition. While it is not very likely that the protest will make a large impact on the law, it was still well organized and peaceful. The protest was no different than several others that have been staged at the University and various other places around Innovo but for reasons unknown, the Innovo City Police became involved. Citing the protest as an, "Anti-Government rally", the police broke into the crowd and began arresting students who had organized the protest. Chaos broke out, students began shouting about the encroachment on their rights to free speech and peaceful demonstration, attempt to stop the arrests. The armored police officers began arresting several more students on the grounds of, "Interfering with a legal arrest". There have been no clear stories on what exactly happened next but violence broke out. No police officers were injured but by the time the dust had settled, four students were on their way to the Orville Medical Center and over twenty-three more were on their way to the Innovo Police Department. All of the students were released from the holding facility this morning and two of the injured students have been released from the hospital. There are still many questions on how the peaceful protest escalated in such a way and why the police force became involved in the first place. The Innovo City Police Department has declined out request for a statement but sever students have given us their stories... continued on page 81... |
