FIENDFYRE IN THE COTSWOLDS
By Reginald Howard, Reporter
FIENDFYRE in the Cotswolds has left two wizards injured and three Muggles dead from the resulting sinkhole.
Aurors are currently attempting to locate the source of the Fiendfyre, a piece of dark magic that has not been since the war. Fiendfyre cannot be extinguished with water and is notoriously difficult for the caster to control.
The Fiendfyre resulted in the collapse of nearby caves, creating a sinkhole.
Three Muggles who were rambling were killed almost instantly. A representative from the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee told the Prophet that their families have been informed. Two wizards are also known to have been caught up in the Fiendfyre, including Wizengamot representative Martin Angelov. Representatives from the Department of Magical Law
Enforcement have stated that they are investigating the theory that Angelov was the intended target, due to the recent elections and the presence of his name on the still-unexplained list that was first posted nearly a year ago. Angelov and the other victim, Ministry employee Algernon Parker, are currently being treated at St. Mungo's for their injuries.
