Who: Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson. When: July 13th. Late afternoon. Where: Malfoy Manor. What: Tea, catching up, and seeing the new peacock additions. Rating: Low.
Draco was beginning to feel properly like himself again. He was reconnecting with the people he considered genuine friends, and gathering once more the attention of those other friends and acquiantences he actually wanted to surround himself with. If all went well, by the time the new school year started he would be back on top, precisely where he belonged, and ready to rule Slytherin once again. And potentially the school, if he could - and if bloody Harry Potter didn't get in the way.
With Pansy coming over, Draco made sure that the House Elves tidied the sitting room and also ordered them to have tea ready and hot for whenever they required it. Which probably required boiling constant pots of tea, but honestly, they were House Elves that was what they were for (no matter what certain loud-mouthed fuzz-headed Muggleborns tried to say).
When the knock came on the door Draco shooed the House Elves away, ordering them back to the kitchen or wherever else they went to be out of sight and went to answer it himself. He was dressed in long sleeves despite the fact that it was mid-July, but Draco always wore long sleeves these days. That aside, he was looking well again - not pale and drawn with dark circles and not enought weight on as he had started looking during Sixth Year and had kept through the missed Seventh Year. Pulling open the door he smiled at Pansy on the other side. It was one of those genuine smiles that only a handful of people ever saw - the few people that he actually considered close.
"Pansy," he said. "You're looking lovely, as always. How are you?"
