Who: Theodore Nott and Tracey Davis.
When: [backdated] July 10th - Tuesday afternoon.
Where: The Nott Estate.
What: Catching up after Tracey gets back; discussing the engagement.
Rating: TBD.For obvious reasons, the situation that Theodore had found himself in during the past couple of weeks was not what he would call ideal. How many times had he rejected the idea and attempted persuasions of others when it came to doing as they saw fit for him? Theodore Nott never was and never would be a follower. He didn't join cliques, he didn't agree with the pitiful ideas of the Ministry, the Death Eaters, or even the Order of the Phoenix. He had rolled his eyes at Draco's behavior in school before - the attempt at ruling the school with Pansy and pushing other people around had always been Theodore's least favorite thing about Draco. Theodore Nott was not what other people wanted him to be, and yet there he was, stuck in a situation that his father of all people had decided to place him in.
With Tracey's visit approaching, Theodore found himself wondering where he would be right now had he not waited to see what would become between the pair of them. Her blood status would meet the requirements of their society, and no one could deny that it was a smart pairing. But rather than act on the growing feeling in their sixth year, Theodore had snuffed it out and allowed himself to block out emotions - as he so easily did. And where had that landed him? In an arranged marriage as he watched the girl that he truly felt something for return from Italy after being away for so long. It left him with nothing, not even his own identity.
Theodore was furious, to put it lightly. Furious with himself and with his father.
Regardless, Tracey's visit would likely be the brightest point in the past several weeks. Spending all of this time with the Selwyn girl had left him irritated and desperately seeking time on his own - something that the Selwyn's hardly seemed to think that he needed. He had no family at home with his father awaiting trial, and therefore what better could he be doing with his time than courting their daughter? An audible sigh escaped him at the thought of it all, and Theodore could feel the tension release from his shoulders and neck as he turned his focus to the House Elf that had entered the room to announce to him that Ms. Davis had arrived. Putting on the best smirk that he could manage, Theodore turned away from the window in his room to face the raven haired woman the family elf had brought upstairs.
Absolutely stunning - as she always was. The smirk had fallen from his face as he looked her over, primarily assessing that she was alright after so many months of not having seen her. After a long, silent moment, the faint smile returned and he moved forward toward her.
"You are absolutely glowing, Tracey." Reaching her, he placed a hand on her upper arm and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. Mentally he was reprimanding himself for such a physical act - something that he wasn't known for to begin with - but on the outside he appeared cool and collected, as always. "It is wonderful to finally see you."
