Although Ben's normal work-week was a Monday to Friday sort of deal, with the occasional evening or weekend shift in one of the wards, he had been working a good deal more since the War had ended. So many people needed therapy, to work out a whole plethora of issues. It was a good thing that Ben liked his job as much as he did, but even he felt the stress sometimes. And thus he had been in the office in the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with a pile of files following hom home on Sunday night. So when Monday came along it was hardly the beginning of a work week for him, it was a continuation. It had been a long day, with meetings before his first patient, and meetings at lunch as well.
So by the time his last patient had gone, he needed a drink.
Finishing up the patient file, Ben set everything in order in his office. He pulled out the files for his first few patients of the next day and then locked up and headed out. His tie he loosened as he walked down the hallways of St. Mungos and by the time he reached the Floo it was tucked into his pocket and his top button was undone.
He Flooed in to Diagon Alley, figuring he'd stop in for a drink and a snack before heading home (because he had a feeling his fridge was on the empty side anyway). He liked the Leaky Cauldron and the Waning Wolf both, but it was the latter that he headed to, and soon enough was walking through the door.
It was early enough that the place wasn't as crowded as it could get, especially as it was only Monday. Ben headed to the bar and slid onto a stool, noticing a familiar face behind the bar. "Hey, Flint," he said, raising a hand in greeting.
