"I'm sorry Master Dorny, that book was checked out earlier today"
"That's impossible", Jake hissed through gritted teeth. How was it possible a textbook which wasn't needed until later on in the term had been already loaned out? "It's imperative I read that text, do you not have more than one copy?", he demanded, raising his voice in an otherwise quiet library.
Despite his outrage, Jake was pleased that the library had been (for the most part) restored effectively. It was his favourite building in the castle. Still, that wasn't enough to keep his sour mood from Madame Pince. "Well, who has it?", he continued, giving her a scathing look. "I think it best you ask Miss Granger for it, when she is ready", Pince replied, returning his glare, "and I'd thank you to keep your voice down, this is a library after all", she added, and with a huff, went back to stacking the shelves with new textbooks.
"Granger..." Jake's eyes narrowed as the all too familiar name rang through his ears. A low growl emitted from his throat. This wasn't the first time she had beaten him to a book he needed, in fact, it was an all too regular occurrence. Sighly loudly, he swept his hair back and with a scowl began to head for the exit towards the Great Hall, his robes swirling behind him in a flurry.
