“Well there’s no rush,” Zacharias said in a casual manner, and he let it be left at that. He did make note if it, in his mind though, not to push things too much – not that he would pull back completely either. He just hoped to find the right balance between pursuit and letting Jake go at the pace that worked for him.
“Me too. We might as well get out while the weather’s good, just in case a freak storm decides to come about,” he said with a chuckle as they stepped through the door. He closed it behind them and reached for Jake’s hand to take as they walked down to the stables.
The stables were set away from the house a bit, in the back. A decent size stable, home to about half a dozen horses, although it had room for more. “I think I’ve just the horse for you,” he said as they walked. “The half-brother of my horse, actually. Name’s Spoiler.”
