Who: Zacharias Smith and Justin Finch-Fletchley. When: August 3rd, 1998. Where: Smith Manor ---> Port Key to Spain. What: Going to the England/India match! Rating: G.
To say that Zacharias liked Quidditch was about the biggest understatement ever to be stated. Zacharias pretty much lived and breathed Quidditch, as anyone who was friends with him, played on his Quidditch team, or basically heard him speak for more than five minutes would know. So the fact that it was World Cup Quidditch time meant that Zacharias was in very good spirits.
Especially good was the fact that Justin was coming to the match with him. He had missed his friend. An awful lot, and had been worried over the past year. Zacharias might not have shown it in the way that some of their friends did - he was a lad after all - but he felt it all the same. Hufflepuff dorms were not the same without Justin aroudn - and Megan as well - and although he was glad they had been out of harms way and did not have to deal with some of the unpleasant parts of the last school year (Zacharias had suffered many an injury due to his House), he had missed having them around.
He was waiting for Justin to arrive so they could Port Key over to Spain. He'd had the Port Key delivered that morning by someone from the Department of Magical Transport, with strict instructions and a thorough lecture and lesson on its use. Zacharias was wearing a Team England shirt with a pair of kakhi shorts, and was practically vibrating with energy. Both because of the upcoming match and a very nice conversation he'd had earlier with a certain someone.
When he heard a knock at the door, Zacharias went to answer it - and he just grinned when he saw Justin on the other side. Looking very Justin-like. "Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" he said with a little shake of his head and a fond look. "Come, let's have a manly hug," he joked, reaching for an embrace. Real men hugged!
