Daphne couldn't help but laugh, though it came out slightly choked from all the emotion, at his own teasing comment. If he had not been holding her hands, she surely would have given him a swat for the cheek. "I'll have you know I am very charming when I want to be," she informed him, a playfully haughty expression on her face. "It worked on you, didn't it?" Her smile was genuine then, soft, and she felt her heart swell as Ernie brought her hands to his face so he could kiss them gently.
Relief shot through her at his reassurance, making her eyes shimmer a bit as she took a shaky breath. "Good, because I am freaking out a little but I'm happy and wasn't sure if I could be if you weren't." It was nice to hear that Ernie didn't have any of the fears or reservations or uncertainties though her own insecurities weren't completely erased. "Well, it's certainly my baby if it's deciding what to do and when without caring about anyone else's thoughts on the matter," she added with a shake of her head.
Her expression drooped a little as she considered those words though Daphne tried to play it off and bring the smile back. It was just so scary and she was pretty positive she would make a shite mother.
