She'd managed to get the cake all crumb coated and into the fridge to chill over night. She'd come in early to decorate it before delivery. There was a plethora of pretty sugar paste flowers that were hanging to dry on the little racks. She looked up when she heard her husband's voice and the sweet munching sound of her daughter as she munched on that big strawberry, her hands and face all pink and messy.
Susan didn't so much mind the messes as the frogs in the house. Her daughter seemed as drawn to them as Neville had been to Trevor. She'd found more than one in places they ought not to be.
"I was just wrapping things up here." she said as she moved over to them and gave him a kiss and Holly one on the side of her head. The toddler just waved the fat half eaten strawberry at her mother.
"How was your day?" she asked as she moved to undo her apron strings.
