Adam snorted. She had standards, sure, but here she was, sitting in his office, conjuring up a shot glass to drink his liquor. Z clearly had excellently high standards.
"That's what I don't get about this whole mess. Schechter's hiring who he can right now. It's not like there's a line of witches or wizards breaking down the doors to teach here and he has his pick. He's taking what he can get and making the best of it." Adam sighed. He knew that logic didn't work on purebloods, and he was pretty sure that was where the Concerned Wizards of Britain were coming from. Victoria was British, pureblood, and had been Slytherin besides. It was all politics, and politics that Adam personally thought could be done away with if Hogwarts did away with their ridiculous sorting system. It essentially forced segregation on students in a way throwing them all in a dorm and letting them sort each other out never could.
"I knew, you know," Adam said, ducking his head. "I've known that Gerard was a werewolf for... for almost the entire time he's been here, I guess. When I lost my magic, I tried a ritual to get it back - it involved blood, and Gerard was there, and it was kind of. Anyway, I knew. Wards wouldn't have done any good because he was already inside the castle, Z."
He looked back up at her. "I... I don't know how much talking I could get him to do. I suppose we could both try in our own time," he said, then looked back down at the top of his desk.
