Z took the bottle from Adam and made a face at his suggestion. "I have standards," she said, mimicking the snottier pureblood girls. She conjured up shot glass, filled it and knocked it back. She refilled it and then gave the bottle back to Adam.
"I can't imagine trying to keep the Quidditch teams in line-they've all started from scratch and the whole program is just such a mess right now. I truly wish her the best of luck sorting it out. Though really, the entire school is a mess. We're lucky to have the staff we do."
Z slumped back in her seat more. She didn't need to have as perfect posture at the moment-Adam took her seriously enough, she didn't need to play any roles right now (leader, teacher, perfectly composed research partner, pureblood).
"I'm not holding the attack against Gerard," Z said. "I assume he's been on Wolfsbane and something went wrong with the potion-he's absolutely not responsible for that or getting bit in the first place. And obviously, he wouldn't want to let the whole world know he's a werewolf, but I do wish he'd been a bit more forthcoming. We might have been able to avoid the whole thing if more of the staff had known and helped with the wards."
Unspoken was "if Slytherins knew-they're much more suspicious and willing to ward for a fully grown and violent werewolf just in case."
"He's bound to have ideas about what the school wards need and maybe he does have some ideas about the current state of the wards. Do you want to ask him or would you like me to ask him?"
