Z was surprised that Bob would even consider her offer semi-seriously. And she was surprised at how tough a bargainer he was.
"See if the Headmaster would even consider letting me have a time-turner or like, doing independent studies in all of my courses or something before we start negotiating what I would get out of bailing the school out-it's not going to be possible unless we do something about my courses."
Z frowned when she heard how Bob had gotten sucked into running the class (she couldn't call it teaching). Hogwarts was understaffed and kept losing professors which really wasn't a surprise, but generally they had someone on hand who knew enough about the subject to fill in until they got someone new. Z had a nasty suspicion that she might be the only one except for maybe Victoria or William who was remotely qualified to teach Ancient Runes. This wasn't good.
"I understand why the Headmaster would have you fill in, but it's a stupid idea. No offense. We need to work something out so the students don't unnecessarily suffer from Ross being Ross and then getting an instructor who doesn't actually know the subject."
Z pulled her planner out and flipped it around so Bryar could see it. "I'm busy as fuck, as you can see. But I could probably work in, hmm, maybe a combined 6th and 7th year class during prep two or three times a week? And they could then do prep when they're in class with you? And we'd need to do something about the OWLs students-I'm not too concerned about the third and fourth years-they can get by with book work and a weekly lecture. We can just work out a syllabus-I think I might have my old ones in storage at home."
