The thing about Adam lying was that Adam occasionally had a truly misguided sense of honor. He had found out that Gerard was a werewolf by accident, and he'd decided to protect that secret. It wasn't his fault that when he was sick and lost all his magic, Gabe had assumed that Adam was dealing with the aftereffects of the full moon. Adam just hadn't bothered to correct him. It had been kind of funny - Adam hadn't been lying when he'd said that he didn't want Gabe to tailor the potion because he was scared something would go wrong. And now something had, and now Adam had been bitten, and now there was a possibility that Adam might be a werewolf for real. He wasn't sure how Gerard being unshifted was going to work, since there was still a significant amount of saliva involved.
Adam didn't have time to react to the knock on his door before it was opening. "You'll have to make an appointment to come back later this evening, I'm busy now," Adam said. He wasn't actually busy, so much as he was staring at the book he had open on his desk, unseeing.
