"Nothing I've constructed," William replied, taking a step closer to be available should Victoria have further questions. "Any volumes protected by curses, hexes, jinxes or unknown spells should be separated and distinguished by ward-lights." He ran his wand through the air above the shelf and a faint golden glow appeared along the spine of one of the books, a thick black leather-bound treatise on bewitchment potions.
"Any spells on these books are minor. The dangerous ones - or the ones we know to be dangerous -" he corrected himself, "are on the upper shelves, and protected by a second set of wards to keep them from being handled accidentally, without the proper precautions." He raised his wand and tapped it in demonstration against the invisible rippling wall of magic encasing the top shelf. "They're fairly standard; you ought to be able to remove them without difficulty if you find something you would like to investigate."
A new thought made him turn to her, half-hopeful. "I hadn't thought...if there are any curses you wouldn't find it much trouble to remove, once you've settled in and have some free time at your disposal, it would be appreciated."
