"Yeah, it's about a power struggle," Adam said fumbling the lighter across the desk top. "Unfortunately, it has absolutely nothing to do with who's the bigger wolf. Err... or whatever you call it."
He could pinpoint the exact moment Gerard figured out what his problem was, because he started wheezing and stuttering and honest to Merlin, Adam could not look at him at all. He even started picking at his cuticles to avoid looking up at Gerard. He was silent for a moment.
"I wouldn't call it upset," Adam said finally, his voice quiet. "I would call it more... well, I liked it. And I shouldn't, but I did, and if you want to know why I've been avoiding you, that's it." He looked up at Gerard then. "I have a thing." He reached up and pushed his hair back behind his ear. "Um. A hair pulling thing. So I was kind of at a disadvantage, see. And I was drunk. I'm embarrassed because I liked it and pretty much I'd let you do it again any time you wanted."
