"... What?" Adam asked, totally confused. "You sent them? I knew they weren't my brand. I was so confused when I found them." He reached up and pulled the rubber band out of his hair and down over his wrist, running his fingers through his hair and looking at Gerard seriously, before tossing the cigarette package down on his desk and plopping down. Butch made a noise as Adam almost sat on him and skittered out of the arm of the chair and up onto one of the shelves behind Adam's desk.
"I wouldn't say that I was necessarily upset, so much," Adam said. "And it's not about respecting me, either." He was frowning and looking down at his desk, then he looked up at Gerard, still frowning. "What do you think this is about, Gerard?" He was confused. Respect hadn't really factored into it. Unless it was about how Gerard totally forgot Adam the next week, but Adam couldn't really hold that against him, even if he wanted to.
