"Oh, the trasgu did get them to you!" Gerard said, brightening hesitantly. It couldn't be totally bad if Adam was offering him a cigarette, right? "I was sort of afraid they were smoking down in the kitchen and laughing at me."
Gerard took a cigarette, rolling it in his fingers absently, and then sighed and looked up at Adam. Adam was staring off at some fragment of wall over Gerard's shoulder, mouth tight. Gerard needed to fix this, or at least to try.
"Adam," he said earnestly, leaning in. "I really am sorry about Halloween. I just didn't think, I didn't realize how much it upset you. I want you to know that I do respect you, so much. I'm sorry if I made you think I didn't."
