That was easy enough. Ryan hadn't been his primary focus when asking that question, but William didn't mind preparing a cup for him. He wasn't a threat. The threat was closer at hand, drinking something disgustingly not-tea with Gerard. He'd seen her over the past week, still beautiful while William had been gangly and awkward, and he'd seen where Gabe's attention had gone whenever she was around. If she tried anything, William would bite her. He thought about hissing, just to make sure she got the message, but decided against it for now. There were other ways to make it clear he'd claimed his territory.
He walked back over to the chess table, both teacups floating along behind him on invisible magical tethers, and set Ryan's down in front of him. His free hand settled on Gabe's shoulder and slid down over his chest until William could feel the throb of his heartbeat.
William's tea was still piping hot, but not enough to seriously scald him. And the blonde was still watching. William dipped his finger into the sweet, strong tea and held it to Gabe's lips. "Taste?"
He barely spared a glance for the board before turning his head to nuzzle Gabe's ear. His teeth closed over the lobe, biting down just enough to be satisfying before he let go and murmured, "Mate in one."
