William felt like toast that had gone crisped around the edges, but he thought they'd escaped lightly, considering. He rubbed his fingertips together to check if there were any blisters hidden under the ash, and shook his head. "Just some particles in the air, probably the wand core." Wand cores tended to be strongly and inherently magical; they didn't explode into powder without first putting up a fight.
He straightened up and had to blink against another wave of dizziness. "I'll stop by and check in with Healer Bryar," he reassured Nate, because you could never be too careful with this sort of thing, after all. "Did anyone get burned?"
At this time of day, Bob would be just finishing up dinner in the Great Hall, or possibly in the staff lounge, where most of the staff tended to take refuge during the brief quiet period after the meal. William would check there first.
