"Great," Mikey said, trying not to look too pleased. If there was one thing he'd learned from working for the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad it was that people didn't like it when you seemed happy about performing complex spells on them. "Any preference as to type of bird?"
He summoned the book he'd borrowed from the library and flicked to the chapter he'd dog-eared on avians (and then hastily straightened out the dog ear as best he could - William would have to never know). The thin stretched pages had images of muggle species on one side and magical ones on the other and though the text underneath looked a little archaic, the pictures were the clearest he could find.
"Pen-guin," he spelled out thoughtfully, tilting the book so Nate could see too. "Apparently in the past they were used by Arctic muggles to herd sheep." Which were in themselves another non-magical oddity, though one he was slightly more familiar with given the castle's rural setting. "Strange, I didn't realise they had sheep in the Arctic."
Perhaps it would be better if they went for something a little less far flung. The last thing he needed was Nate the Penguin trying to herd students around. "Storks - used for delivering infants." Hmm, that was just straight up bizarre. "Maybe we should stick to the magical ones," he suggested. They just looked more reassuring.
