Gabe had been preparing suitably jovial remarks on the topic of her being a really cute redheaded devil, but William's final word sent a chill down his spine. Still. Before he'd come to England, he'd spent a lot of time in parts of the world where Obliviation (on magical targets, at least) was practically considered the fourth Unforgiveable. Gabe hadn't required much convincing. If he didn't have the full contents of his head, then who was he? So yeah, he sort of got stuck a little on that.

William could hardly be expected to know Ministry policy, but he had been hiding in a cupboard; Gabe didn't really think he was the type to worry about escaping an ex. "What did you fall out over?"
