"She doesn't need a pet troll," William grumbled, rearranging the tea set to pour a fresh cup for himself. "She's a redheaded devil."
That was perhaps slightly strong. Then again, considering the tea-blocking incident, perhaps not. She was wily, that one. William was only slightly preoccupied with Gabe, and mostly concerned with Hayley's redheaded devil wiliness. He took a sip of his tea.
"There is a reason," he pointed out meaningfully, "that I was hiding in the broom closet in the first place, and it clearly wasn't for Spencer." Not that Spencer wasn't attractive, in a great hulking bearded pretty sort of way. It was just that hulking, bearded, and pretty weren't really William's type. Also, it was Spencer. Gabe really ought to know better.
