William was not...all right, no, he was totally hiding. He was only half-hiding from Hayley now, however, and half-hiding from everyone else in the castle, following Spencer and Pete's indescribably mortifying display at dinner Thursday evening. The library hadn't been silent ever since; it was constantly filled with stifled snickers and muffled giggles, and Hayley was still blocking William's retreat to the staff lounge (as if he would find any shelter from the mocking there), so he'd strategically retreated to his current lone safe haven. Where, conveniently, he'd also stashed a teapot.
The door opening gave him a start (Andrew didn't bother with doors), but before he had to resort to diving under the piano, he heard Andrew's voice float in even when the ghost himself didn't: "I'll just leave you two alone to catch up."
If Andrew had brought Hayley up here, after their blood pact in fifth-year about never letting girls come between them (valuable books were another matter), William wouldn't visit him for a week. Possibly two. He clutched his teacup and peered out suspiciously from behind the bench.
