"Come anytime you want, seriously," Spencer said, grinning a little stupidly. Way brothers, man. He was pretty fond of them, although he was starting to feel a little bad about continually downplaying any relationship with Mikey. Also, I'm dating your brother! he thought brightly, and bit back a grin. "It'd be cool to see you. It gets pretty quiet out here." In his defense, he was getting better at the going-to-communal-meals-once-in-a-while thing, for which Jon would probably be gloating for all eternity. Still, it was too easy to fall back into old habits, war habits, and comforting as they sometimes were, Spencer wasn't quite delusional enough to think they had nothing to do with being lonely on occasion.
Audrey had a large glowing circle around her, mostly for Spencer's own reference. He hovered on the outside of the circle and said, "You want to chuck 'em in? She hasn't eaten yet today, so uh. Careful of fingers." He stretched lazily, grinning at the way Audrey lashed out at his moving shadow on the floor. "You're technically not meant to get close, but she, um, kinda likes me, so after she's eaten we can step up."
