Gerard was maybe a little ridiculously excited about seeing Greenhouse 5. He definitely didn't remember anything this interesting being taught in his Herbology classes when he was a student. But then, he didn't exactly have a green thumb, so he'd usually wound up in the bottom half of the class. Stuck with the mandrakes and stinksaps for what had felt like all eternity.
Gerard followed Spencer's footsteps carefully as they entered the greenhouse, abruptly a bit uneasy at all the motion coming from the shadows around them. He snapped his head around as a vine rustled next to his ear, only continuing onward when Spencer seemed unconcerned. The room smelled like green growing things and dirt and darkness, a tang of old blood he figured had to be Audrey, something that was probably fertilizer. Nothing rang any alarm bells, and so he stopped baring his teeth and padded after Spencer again, forcing himself to relax.
"Next time I come out, I'll bring squirrels and a record player," Gerard said after a moment, and then bit his tongue. "I mean, hah, if I find more dead squirrels, or whatever, I'll bring them. Um. If you don't mind me coming back, obviously. I know this is kind of out of the way and you've got a lot of work to be doing."
