Jon had barely gotten back from dropping food and other supplies off at the library when one of the younger Hufflepuff girls had woken from a nightmare, crying. He'd just gotten her and her friends calmed down when Gerard appeared, talking a mile a minute. Spencer and Mikey rose, immediately making a plan. Jesus, he was so fucking tired of all this bullshit. He ran a hand over the scruff on his chin and hissed, fingertips were still a bit tender from who-knows-which attempt at Gabe's potion.
Which that reminded him that William hadn't checked in yet. Dammit.
He was half-listening to Gerard when Mikey interrupted them, letting them know his and Spencer's plan. Jon watched Gerard frown, but hold his tongue as his brother slipped away. There was something about their enthusiastic auror, Jon thought again, but he couldn't put his finger on it. And, shaking his head, now was definitely not the time to be trying to figure that out. Maybe later, once he'd slept for a week.
"I'm going to send a message to Bills--William--see if he's made any progress. We could sure use it right now." With a nod over to the ever-rising volume of awakening students, he asked Gerard, "Can you get them prepared? They'll need to be ready with the barricade and I'm not leaving Spence or Mikey out there alone for very long."
