"So are you," Mikey pointed out, flopping down in a chair beside Gerard's with a yawn. "Pillow thief."
He folded his arms on the table and then dropped his head on them, staring at Gerard's coffee cup somewhat sorrowfully. Wandless summoning had never seemed more appealing; why hadn't he paid better attention during his earlier tenure at the school?
"Eh, you didn't wake me." Gerard was doing that guilty hand fiddling thing. And the sideways concerned look. Next were the sad eyes. Mikey smiled fondly before it could come to that and reached out to poke Gerard in the arm. "Hey, no news is good news," he said, willing himself to believe it as he spoke. The library doors were thick, Spencer had said they'd made the children practise spells, and William was a capable guy. "I'm sure they're all fine."
Unless - well, he didn't want to think about those possibilities and it probably didn't help to do so. Sighing slowly and pressing his eyes shut for a second, he pushed all thoughts of ugly situations away. "Plans for the day?" he asked generally. "Do you think we should try to get up there?"
