It was a scream, and there was really no denying it when Mikey concentrated on listening closer. Whether it was human or not though, he had no idea. And it wasn't exactly a chance they could take.
He cast a hopeful look over his shoulder at the castle as if someone might come bounding out of the dark to deal with it. No-one did, so he met Spencer's worried gaze. "Okay," he said, swallowing thickly as he turned the facts over in his mind to formulate a plan. "Obviously they're distracted right now. So we just need to get close enough to tell - to check it's not you know." A child. Which was probably going to be trickier than it sounded given that the shrieking was pained and they probably needed to be over there right now, not five minutes of careful sneaking later. "And um, fast?"
