Spencer nodded. That's what he'd thought -- besides which, they were all tucked up in different corners of the castle, with not much in the way of keeping down the house elves who roamed their way between it. Not that outside was much better, really, but at least Spencer knew the place a little more.
"Not good," he said honestly. "We took down a bunch coming in, but they don't die easily and it wouldn't surprise me if they were up and about." He drew a breath. "On the other hand, it's dark now, there's not a crowd of kids, and I'm willing to bet they don't remember the grounds layout very well. Not like us."
He bit his lip, not looking away from Mikey, conscious of the suggestion. It was dangerous, Spencer knew, and they needed as many adults here with the kids as possible -- but Spencer didn't like the idea of going out there on his own, and he was kind of sick of worrying about people. It would be nice to keep Mikey close for a while.
