The lack of food was going to be their main problem then, Mikey realised. And they likely wouldn't be the only ones. The various common rooms might hold small supplies of biscuits and chocolates, but that wasn't going to feed significant numbers for any long period of time. If they couldn't get down to the kitchens to make their own, they were either going to have bring it in somehow or try and summon ingredients from below.
"We're going to have to order food in," he said, staring at the walls. "In fact we're going to have go out for it, we can't have people coming up to the castle when it's like this." That was going to be a bit of a problem when they were separated from brooms though.
And possibly not the only problem. "If there are house elves in the grounds," he said slowly, thinking out loud. "Then how far could they have spread overall? The protection spells round the edge of the school are there to stop things getting in, not getting out." He stopped staring and looked over at Adam worriedly. "Not that they would matter when they can apparate." Shit, if what the elves had was some kind of disease and they were responsible for spreading it further - he didn't even want to think. He didn't get a further chance to, either. His mediations were interrupted by a tapping at one of the windows Adam had just pointed out. He had his wand drawn before he realised it could only be an owl trying to deliver.
