Pete sealed it. He had every intention of heading down to Slytherin, but doing so in secret passages didn't do anyone stranded along the normal route any good.
"Exactly," he said, leaning forward on his toes and studying the sconce to see if it belied its secret purpose in any way. Fucking clever Ravenclaws. "I think we should be on guard in case one of them happens to apparate into the dorms, but I'm not sure we need to be worrying about a deliberate attack in that way."
He stopped to frown up at the slice of sky visible through one of the high keyhole windows on the rounded wall of the tower. It was getting darker and darker.
"I need to head to the pitch," he mused, thinking out loud more than anything. "Do you know if anyone's properly watching Slytherin?"
