William was barely beyond sleepwalking when he opened the doors, not enough hours having passed between the time he'd closed his eyes and the time he'd opened them. The charmed brass bell had rung in his bedroom, though, signaling that someone had broached the doors of the library, and then again, more urgently, to warn him that someone was in the Restricted Section.
He hadn't had breakfast or morning tea yet, which was his excuse for amount of time it took him to find the perpetrator hidden away among the stacks. It wasn't someone he'd necessarily been expecting.
"Professor Lazzara?" he said in bewilderment, staring down at the scruffy wizard manhandling his tomes. "What are you doing in here?"
