William tangled his fingers briefly with Gabe's as he pulled away, wanting to hold on and squeeze for just one more moment before letting go. "Sleep," he ordered, in what wasn't anything approaching a stern tone of voice, still smiling. "Promise me you'll sleep. Before you keel over and wreck some important step in your antidote."
He knew Gabe probably wouldn't anyway, but he still had to say it. He took a step back, hands falling away to his sides, and pushed his hair behind his ear. "I'll see you tomorrow, when you've gotten your magic back," he said, grinning wider at the thought. "Cast a victory spell for me."
