William stood and perched on the edge of a work table not currently in use to peer at the proceedings. Gabe's potionswork was far too advanced for William to follow anything but the most rudimentary elements, but it was amazing to watch all the same.
"Is there something I can do to help?" he asked. A little hesitant to admit it, he still added, "I'd really rather not go to sleep right now."
He'd really also prefer not to leave Gabe alone right now. As fatigued as he'd looked when William had first walked in, now he looked ten times worse. William wondered when the last time he'd slept had been. And whether the shade of gray beneath his skin was due to more than lack of sleep.
"You have it, don't you?" he asked quietly. "The virus."
