William was distracted from his surreptitious check under the cotton swab to investigate the tingling on his skin by Gabe's pronouncement. "That's it?" he asked, surprised. "That will lead to a cure? We won't have to do this again?"
He'd have liked to be able to say that the light-headed dizziness was a result of blood being drawn, but he suspected it was mostly relief. Not that he wouldn't have been willing, if it were necessary, but that wasn't something he had ever planned on doing again, and he was more resolved of that now than ever. It might not have been as intense - or prolonged; how long had he been under the thrall of the drugs? - but it still wasn't anything resembling pleasant.
