William tugged his chin gently away from Gabe's touch and tried to sound exasperated rather than amused at Gabe's mother-henning. It seemed so out-of-character for as brash and laidback as Gabe usually was. "I'm out. Do whatever it is you need to do, before we have to go through this all over again."
His only sticking point was that to do whatever Gabe needed to do, he probably needed William to let go of his robe. William untangled himself without (hopefully) any visible sign of reluctance, wrapping his arms around his knees instead, and exhaled shakily. He'd been hoping for enormous Technicolor flowers or something, not...whatever that had been. He could still see wings and stars behind his eyelids.
