William reached out and grasped Joe's robe with one hand, smearing blood across the fabric which soaked in and instantly disappeared. "The web," he said urgently, tangling his fingers tighter in the cloth to make Joe understand the urgency. "Look at the web. Do you see it? Can you see anything...?"
He broke off, coughing, as the smoke choked his breath and made the words rasp in his throat. Joe was still there, though, and William was still dreaming, which meant they had a chance yet. "It's going to unravel," he explained, his hand skidding down the front of Joe's robe as he curled around the flare of pain in his side. "Tell me if you see anything that might be making the students sick."
