William turned out to be a whole hell of a lot faster than Joe was expecting and he struggled a little to keep up as they fled through a cavernous drawing room, footfalls echoing eerily. If this was a still Hogwarts, at least William's mind saw it, they'd gone to a place in the castle Joe had never seen, but feared instinctively.
It all happened so fast, was the thing. They were running, running for their lives it felt like, then William was falling with blood rushing between his fingers. Joe skidded to stop and turned, hitting his knees beside William.
"It's a dream," he said, half to himself and half William, trying to keep the panic from rising in his voice. "William, William, it's just a dream!"
