"There was no mocking at all," Mikey said truthfully. "How could there be when we hadn't got to Slytherin yet?" He hid a burgeoning grin by taking a sip of his coffee, realising as he did that his research papers were likely a lost cause.
"But yeah," he said, turning to Joe, "the houses are personality-based. Ravenclaws value learning and intelligence, Hufflepuffs are loyal and hard-working, and Slytherins are maidenly and kind." It wasn't exactly what he'd been planning on saying two minutes ago, but circumstances had changed. "It's probably only fair that I let Spencer tell you what Gryffindors are like."
