Mikey laughed at Joe's snort, he had no idea whether there had been other applications for the position or not, but it didn't seem all that unlikely that he had been made to fight for it. "Headmaster Schechter can be a bit of a law onto himself," he explained. "Personally, I'm kind of convinced the paintings all report back to him at night."
What was it like? Mikey didn't really know where to start. "Well we have houses, four of them, all in different parts of the school. When they arrive in first year the children are 'sorted' based on their characteristics by this uh, sentient hat. Then the houses are in competition with each other and they can all earn points for good answers in class and so on." He paused, trying to find anything he'd missed. "Oh and each house has a staff member as its Head, so children have someone to go to." There were probably a lot of things he hadn't mentioned, but that was the general gist. "Kind of make sense?"
