He sat down on the window seat and muttered a word to light his cigarette, and took a long drag before responding. The cloves smelled good and dispelled the last of the lingering blood smell, which made it a little easier to chill and take ten deep breaths and try to approach this without freaking out completely.
"I don't exactly...I mean, I don't think I project it." He took another drag, blowing smoke out his nose. "I do everything I can to hide it. I mean I have to."
"And I'm definitely not that kind," he said, firmly, because he wasn't sure how much Adam was joking and felt that he needed to get that out of the way. "I've always wanted to become an auror, help people, do the right thing. That didn't change because of what happened."
