"I'm doing my level best to give her a heart attack anyway," Adam said, shrugging. "Apparently she's got the nose of a bloodhound and we went about three rounds last night over my smoking habits. What it boiled down to, was let me out the back window and do this, or I'm going to start hurting people. I get violent without my fix, see."
Adam pushed the door open and waited for Gerard to go out. "Well, maybe it's the lack of sleep. Or something. Whatever, maybe I don't have what they've got, anyway." He headed down the corridor in the direction of his rooms. "We can do this in my office. It should be fine."
