"That is sad," he agreed. "Maybe you can torture someone else and promote them to the position."
He grinned. "It almost makes me wonder if revenge is in order." He paused. "Not that I can technically condone that."
"If they need someone to, I'd be happy to step in temporarily," he said, making sure the 'temporarily' was there. He had every faith that they'd find a way to fix this. Somehow.
"I do feel bad for quarantining you," he said, looking straight ahead, and shaking his head a little. As he did so, he palmed him something. Then he calmly folded his hands behind his back, a picture of innocence.
